The ‘Sponsor a boy Scheme’ was started on 5th March, 1989 and is being successfully run since then. The objective of the scheme is to see that no student of St. Xavier’s Collegiate School, Calcutta (Established in1860) is deprived of education due to his inability to pay the requisite fees for any reason, be it a sudden drastic fall of family income or loss of a parent or for any unforeseen circumstances whatsoever.
You are invited to contribute generously for this noble cause and make a difference to the lives of these disadvantaged children. Currently, tuition fees per student per anum at St. Xavier’s are Rs. 25,000/- and above, plus other applicable charges. A contribution of Rs. 25,000/- provides for the school fee of ONE boy for ONE year. The above figure however is not a benchmark and contributions are accepted for all amounts since every contribution big or small shall make a difference to the lives of these children. Contributions may also be made in installments.
As a service to society, ALSOC also funds and runs an evening and night school for needy children. Regular school hours have been modified to allow them access to class rooms. Classes are conducted by qualified teachers in English. It is proposed to extend this scheme to the evening and night schools also.
Donations are eligible for deduction u/s 80 G of The Income Tax Act, 1961. Our Pan No. is AAATA4446L.
Corporates are specially invited to participate in this scheme and fulfill their CSR objectives.
As Rs.25,000/-covers the cost of the school fees of ONE boy for ONE year, contributions may be made in multiples of Rs.25,000/- for as many boys as the donor wants to sponsor. For example, Rs.25,000/- for ONE boy, Rs.50,000/- for TWO boys, Rs.75,000/- for THREE boys and so on.
