Rev. Fr. Andre Wavreil Memorial Sit & Draw and Essay competition for the school boys was held at the St. Xavier’s School (Primary) premises on 20th January, 2013 under the leadership of Mr. Kaushik Paul. Mr. Samir Aich was the Chief Guest. Fr. Benny Thomas Principal of School & Mrs. Soma Gomes, Vice Principal of the School and Mr. Aditya Vikram Lodha were also present. Around 300 school boys took part in these competitions.

Inter Alumni Arm Wrestling
The First Inter Alumni Arm Wrestling took place at St. Xavier’s School gym on Saturday, 21st July, 2012, under the leadership of Mr. Sharat Singh. 5 school alumni of Kolkata were invited. Namely Birla Blusters, Calcutta Crushers, Lamartinere Devils, James Smashers, Julian Jackers and last but not the least the rocks of Gibraltar, the master of disaster – the Xaverian Hitman.
The matches were held in a specially constructed boxing ring and arm wrestling tables put into it for greater impact. A WWE style belt was made for the winning team.
We even had a friendly arm wrestling with Fr. George Ponodath (Rector) Vs. Mr. Aditya Vikram Lodha (Hon. Secretary). Some Ladies and kids got into the ring to dance to the music as well, after the event. Any event’s success is measured by the crowd and we had a fair measure of families in.
The finals were between the St. James School team (smashers) and St. Xavier’s School (ALSOC) team. We had 4 times arm wrestling national champion (95 batch) Mr. Dev Malya Sengupta winning the belt for St. Xavier’s School & Alsoc and covering us with glory. Fr. Boris D’Santos & Fr. Peter Arockiam handed over the prize to the winner team and runner up team and followed by snacks.
Alsoccer
The 17th Alsoccer was held on 21st July, 2012 under the leadership of Mr. Amish Raja. Fr. George Ponodath, SJ, Rector of the school, Fr. Benny Thomas, S.J. Principal of the school and President of Alsoc inaugurated the tournament by kicking off the ball. It was played under floodlights. 12 teams of 8 players each participated in this 5-a-side tournament and the winner was Mr. Pradeep Guhathakurta’s team and runner up was Mr. Vishnu’s team. Fr. B. Thomas & Fr. Boris D’Santos handed over the trophies to the winner team, runner up team and ended around 8 p.m. followed by Food.

The 13th Passing-Out Ceremony for the Batch of 2013 was held at the Xavier Hall on 21st March, 2013 under the leadership of Mr. Mukund Kajaria. Fr. Benny Thomas, S.J., Fr. Boris D’Santos S.J., Fr. Peter Arockiam S.J., Mrs. Soma Gomes and Mr. Sidharth Dudhoria, were the distinguished dignitaries at the dais. This is first time we are giving ALSOC Award & Best Speaker on the day of passing out of student class 12 to the St. Xavier’s Teachers. The whole Class 12 Batch along with their family and ALSOC Members came to attend the programme. Fr. Benny Thomas, S.J. addressed the gathering with his inspiring words to the students as well as their parents.
Mr. Sidharth Ghose first read out ALSOC Awardee the citation for the recipients of the Mr. Arun Banerjee & Mrs. Jennifer Velloz, Ex-Teacher of St. Xavier’s School the award was given by Fr. Benny Thomas & Fr. Boris D’Santos.
Mr. Ghose read out the citation for the recipient of the Debarya Datta Memorial Award for “Complete Xaverian” Award. Mr. Diptansu Sen of Class XII was given the Complete Xaverian Award comprising of Rs. 11,001/- and a Gold Medal. The award was given by Mr. Dipen Datta (Member), Fr. Benny Thomas gave the citation to the Complete Xavierian and Mr. Sidharth Dudhoria gave a cheque for Rs. 11,001/-.
Fr. Peter Arockiam hand over the Best Speaker award to Mr. Aruni Ghose of this year.
The programme was well organized and attended by teachers and students. In this programme students from this batch became members of ALSOC. After the programme, everybody joined for a high tea & D J arranged in the gym area.
